Awarded with the 2021 Gregor Calendar and the Japan Calendar Award this project combines self portraits and great calendar design to brighten up your walls. It might also make your day a bit funnier when watching it online.
The 16th of March 2020 – The day everything in Germany changed and nothing more would be the same. Minutes now feel like hours and hours like days. Weekends have become a blur during the seemingly never-ending lockdown. There is now new way of measuring time: the time BEFORE and AFTER corona.
Consequently, we are re-writing the calendar year to begin on the 16th of March 2021. It will end on the 15th of March 2022, the day before the second anniversary of the lockdown.
As a visit to a museum is still not possible in the foreseeable future, this calendar can now become your own personal home exhibit. Each month is represented by a different self-portrait, all of which were shot in different parts of my apartment during the lockdown of April 2020.
This project will also be on display in an exhibition open to the public in the near future. Until then, these pictures will help you pass the time by bringing a little splash of color to your walls and enjoyment into your home.
Enclosed are step-by-step instructions for hanging up the calendar. Everything else you need for installing your home exhibit is included in the box. It’s also possible to mix things up a bit and use the enclosed stand to display the individual calendar pages on your table.
